Pray for the World ~ The Ecumenical Prayer Cycle

The Ecumenical Prayer Cycle enables us to journey in  prayer through every region of the world and through every week of the year affirming our solidarity with Christians around the world, brothers and sisters living in diverse situations, experiencing diverse problems and sharing diverse gifts.

The Cycle also invites us to learn about those for whom we pray.  Take a few minutes each week to look up those places unfamiliar to you.  Ours is a global community.  Get to know your neighbors.

Please pray for those living in …

21-27 March --China, hong Kong, Macao

28 March - 3 April -- Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore

4 - 10 April -- East Timor, Indonesia, Philippines

Rev. Dr. Michael Wuchter Sermon Series Books

The Rev. Dr. Michael David Wuchter (1946-2000), the son of Rev. Robert and Eleanor Wuchter, grew up in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan and graduated from Manasquan High School. After 3 graduate schools, he served 3 parishes until his untimely heart attack August 5, 2000 at age 54 in Namibia. He and his wife Shirley were on a Mission trip to help dedicate a new Lutheran Church of Okaingu Parish, a companion congregation of First Lutheran. Over the years, Shirley has produced four books of Michaels’s sermons, organized according to the church year.

Each book has different sermons, dedications, and acknowledgements. When she visited Eleanor in December 2009, she left 20 of these books; there are 5 for each season for a minimum donation of $10.00 each.  There are a few on display in the Parish Hall. Please contact the church office if you would be like to purchase a set, or  just one book.
