Growing Young Church Discussion Group

5:30 to 7:00

Join us for Growing Young discussion group. Growing Young is a book based on research study of churches of various denominations to find out how and why some churches maintain younger generations in their churches. The research matters because it can help churches reach and engage young people well. The Growing Young discussion will hopefully inspire new vitality in our church. So if you are interested in reaching out to children, teenagers, and emerging adults, please join us on Wednesdays at 5:30pm in the church Lounge on every Wednesday until May 23rd. In preparation for our next session you will need to: 1) Get a copy of the book Growing Young: Six Essential Strategies to Help Young People Discover and Love Your Church. Contact Linda Bacon for more information.

CMC Group

(Cultivating Mission Capacity)

Atonement members are teaching a youth Bible class at United Methodist Church on Grand Ave and hoping that the teenagers might engage with young people in our own congregation.  Atonement members are also teaching a Bible class at the Jersey Shore Adult Day Care Center on Main St. in Asbury Park and working with neighboring churches to develop housing for women who are homeless during the coldest months of the  year (December 1 – March 31).  The CMC team is hoping that others will become involved in these new ministries and in further addressing the goals noted above.  If you would like to learn more about these opportunities, please contact the CMC team: Pastor Gary, Brenda Hunt, Carolyn and Ken Lafferty.
